The shadows that light paints on surfaces surprise and amuse me, often more than the object itself. I like the
anonymity and universiality of silhouettes, backlit subjects with recognizable shapes.

Crop a circle and you may create a sense of lyrical movement. The image becomes more abstract and minimal. It teases the viewer by suggesting that there is more outside the frame and stimulates imagination and interest. Whether the subjects are monochrome or color, smooth or textured, cropped circles are the harmonizing element in this series. Created between 2017 and 2025, each image cuts confining closed curves of still life objects and architecture.
